Hey there! This a little blog telling you about who I really am. You're in for a treat :)
Chapter 1
So as you already know from all of the bold writing all over this website of mine, my name is Nayana Mena. I would describe myself as a bubbly, chatty and encouraging young woman, but let's look at where this started....
I was born in the early 2000's, in a part of London that I'm lucky to call my home. Im East London born and bred and I wouldn't change that for the world. The area in which I have grown up in has really shaped me as a person, and it has made me feel grateful and appreciative for everything, especially the small things. I was brought up surrounded by nothing but love from both my family and my people dem(Friends) and I guess thats where my strong and fun personality was nurtured.
Despite me growing up in London, England, I will always remember my Caribbean roots. My mother is from both Jamaica and Guyana and my dad is from Haiti and The Dominican Republic, which are all islands that are situated within the Caribbean.
All of these countries have their own unique culture and identity and I cannot wait to explore this further as I get older and travel more often. Im hugely proud of where i'm from and another thing that I am proud of is the faith that I have chosen to live by. I was brought up in a Christian household and this is something that I have strengthened since entering adulthood. All of these things add to who I am as an individual.
As mentioned previously, I was born and raised in London. The place I like to call the hub of talent and the land of opportunity. There are so many talented and powerful individuals within London and they have definitely inspired me.
I have always been into music and performing arts as young as I can remember. I just found it so fun and I knew from that tender age that my passions would lie within the creative field. I love singing and music in general. Theres something so powerful about how a good song can bring people together. I started singing within church and school choirs and then this turned into pretty much everywhere where someone could listen. I also loved dancing and acting and had always been fascinated by the stars that I saw on my TV and heard on my radio. I always wondered what it would be like if I got to that stage. My love for the media industry and presenting is something that has always been there and I am so excited to begin my journey into it.
My media Journey:
The media is all around us and it is something that I have always been intrigued by. It influences the way society works and the trends that we see. I've always wanted to make a positive impact and have my voice heard. People have always told me that i'm so friendly and talkative and that I have what it takes to be presenter and to work within the media field and I can visualise it too. I started my youtube channel in my early teens and It's something that I still find fun to create content for now.
News With Nayana:
I have recently started a new Tik Tok Series called "News With Nayana" where I discuss current affairs and trending topics and bring it to the forefront in a way that is easy to understand by all. People of my age do not tend to be interest in the news and what is generally going on in the world and I guess I wanted to change that.
Right Now I am just so excited to see where this passion of mine will take me!
I come from humble beginnings but I know that with the power of God and loads of hard work I can achieve my dreams, and its the same for you reading this.
Put yourself out there and never limit yourself, you are more than enough and you have what it takes.
This is just the beginning...
